Durham Amateur Rowing Club
Starting and Finishing at Durham Amateur Rowing Club (DARC).
Please join us for our January’s walk followed by a drink at 1860 Bar and Café, based at DARC.
We will walk along the riverbanks towards the city, over Baths Bridge and along the other side until we find a path into Pelaw Woods https://www.pelaw-wood.org.uk/ here we will follow the paths and go up and over a bridge to see St Giles’s Church http://stgilesdurham.org.uk/ which is just off Gilesgate main street. After reaching the Church we will head back into Pelaw Woods and follow the path down to the riverbanks following the path back to DARC where we will finish with a drink.
You are very welcome to just come for the walk or the drink.
Parking is available at DARC (DH1 3JU) and there is also parking available close by on Green Lane. There are bike racks available too.
Children and Dogs are very welcome but must be always your full responsibility.
Please note that there will be a steep drop in various parts of Pelaw Woods and the surface can be uneven, so please take extra care and wear appropriate footwear.
