We are Hiring - Selby Project Manager
We are looking for a well organised and enthusiastic Project Manager to continue the development of our Move Mates project in Selby. This role is 15 hours per week, with plenty of flexibility around working hours.
Our Selby project has been running as a pilot for around 18 months. We are now looking to build on this pilot and expand the project increasing the number of people that we support. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in a project combining social action with physical activity to tackle loneliness, isolation and mental ill-health, with stacks of other benefits to participants and to your local community.
As Project Manager you will lead the development of the 1:1 walking project and act as the main point of contact for both beneficiaries and volunteers. A key part of this role is continuing to build on our inclusive, friendly and engaged community of volunteers, as well as raising the profile and reputation of Move Mates in Selby with residents and local organisations.
Good administrative skills are vital to this role; you will ensure that volunteer applications are processed efficiently, including completing DBS checks with potential volunteers; you’ll register new beneficiaries either by phone or in person, and you’ll be the main point of contact for enquiries in your area. You’ll also need great communication skills and confidence in using a range of online tools.
Key to this role will be your ability to make connections in your community. You will build good working relationships with relevant local organisations and social prescribing teams who will make referrals to Move Mates.
The successful candidate will have a high standard of written English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. In this role you will be regularly communicating with a wide range of people from different backgrounds.
This is a busy and varied role, it will suit a proactive multi-tasker who can switch between different tasks, who is keen to learn and will take a proactive approach to understand new systems and can keep an overview of the bigger picture whilst staying focused on those small details too.
