York
Project Manager: Libby Crofts
SERVICE UPDATE 8th November. We have reopened to referrals for Move Mates in most areas of York. However, unfortunately we are still unable to accept referrals for people living in Huntington and New Earswick. We made our first pairing in York in January 2019 and have been growing ever since. We also run a series of Wellbeing (group) Walks in York too - more info below.

I Want to Volunteer
as a Move Mate in York
We are actively recruiting volunteers for our fantastic Move Mates project in York.
Are you compassionate, a good communicator and empathetic to people from all walks of life? This could be for you! Can you give an hour or two a week to walk and talk with someone, and make a 3 month minimum commitment?
Our Projects
Wellbeing Walks
Our volunteers lead group walks which are more about the socialising and fresh air than the walking!
Wellbeing Walks enable people to socialise with each other in a friendly, unpressured setting. This increases confidence among participants and brings people together, providing an opportunity for people to make connections in their local community, which in turn tackles social isolation.
These group walks are up to a mile in distance, and the pace is very gentle, with plenty of opportunity to take a break, sit and natter.
