I am originally from New Zealand and grew up surrounded by hills, lakes, and native bush.
I have always loved walking and the outdoors, and spent 8 years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
I love that Move The Masses advocates and supports people getting out and about.
I know from my own personal experience the importance of being active on both our mental and physical health.

Business Development
I am a true believer in kindness, and Move the Masses is a wonderful way to make a positive impact on our community.
I love the quote “there’s no time like the present and no present like the time.”
Sparing a little of your time can make a world of difference to someone.
It’s no secret that movement can do wonders for our mental and physical health, so Move the Masses is a fantastic way to support those who would otherwise not get the opportunity to enjoy a walk and chat with someone.
It’s something that many of us may take for granted but it makes a huge difference to how we feel emotionally and physically.
Plus volunteering can benefit us as much as the cause we help.
John Mylchreest Tech
I am a passionate technologist and often find myself spending all my time at a desk.
However, I’m equally passionate about applying my skills and volunteering my time in ways that have a positive impact beyond what I could do individually.
Move the Masses is a charity that embodies how small investments in spending time with others can have a profound impact on physical and mental wellbeing for all parties.
I’m excited to be able to be part of that.

I live in York, and I am keen to support Move the Masses.
I admire their aims and impact.
I have seen the benefit of similar support for my elderly mother, and recognise the unique service provided by this small, local charity.
I currently work for a large national charity in a leadership role I support general managers facing similar challenges experienced by CEO, Becci and her team of staff.
I also have fundraising experience and a strategic and commercial approach.
Jack Strickland Treasurer
Volunteering for Move the Masses has enabled me to utilise my professional skills to help make a tangible and positive difference in my community.
Being part of Move the Masses has also helped to further develop my leadership skills, resulting in a win-win scenario.
Ange Graham HR and Safeguarding
I am from New Zealand but have now lived in York for 8 years.
I am a Regulatory lawyer working in professional regulation. I do quite a bit of running and usually have an event on the horizon.
I volunteer with Move the Masses to be involved in my local community, and to get a break from my computer screen.
I enjoy seeing the genuine benefits of going for a walk to both myself and my paired walker.
