Durham Amateur Rowing Club
Please join us for a Saturday afternoon walk followed by a drink at 1860 Bar and Café, based at Durham Amateur Rowing Club (DARC).
We will walk along the river past the bandstand then turn left and head towards Durham City Rugby Club. From here we will have a short climb up into Maiden Castle Woodlands where we will hopefully have good views beyond the River Wear over towards Gilesgate. We will then head down and walk along the lower woodland path until it joins the riverside path back to DARC, where we will end with a drink.
You are welcome to just join us for the drink afterwards at around 4.20pm.
Parking is available at DARC (DH1 3JU) and there is also parking available close by on Green Lane. There are bike racks available too.
Children and Dogs are very welcome but must always be your full responsibility.
Please note that there will be a steep drop in various parts of the upper Maiden Castle Woods and the surface can be uneven, so please take extra care and wear appropriate footwear.
