Move Mates Durham is off to a flying start
Two brand new pairings have completed their first Move Mate walks in the city of Durham.
Hannah, our Project Manager in Durham, has been working hard behind the scenes. She’s been busy recruiting volunteers, taking new referrals and promoting Move Mates across the city.
Her efforts have paid off, as last week she made the project’s first two pairings and we saw the first Move Mates walks taking place. We are all really excited to see our participants start their walking adventures together.
Age UK and social prescribers have been instrumental in referring people to us. We’re looking forward to the project growing in Durham and welcoming many more pairings in the city over the coming months. It’s great to see people enjoying each other’s company, and experiencing all the wonderful benefits of regular walking, as Move Mates continue to grow in Durham.

The icing on the cake was receiving lovely feedback from our first walks. Two pairs of participants headed out this week and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, chatting and getting to know each other as well as getting moving.
